The Walter W. Mock Park

The township has recently acquired 54 acres from Jacqueline Mock, in memory of her beloved husband, Walter Mock, Jr. and his family. Most of the park will remain preserved as open space, for simple walking trails, but there is active planning of a fun playground and small ball park and pavilion for family play. The township park is located in the central portion of the township between Church Road and Fiddletown Road. The site primarily contains an existing farm field with adjacent woodlands. A portion of the property contains a natural riparian corridor along Princess Run. The Princess Run supports natural reproduction of wild trout, and as such is highly regarded by local anglers.  A grant has been applied for to start development on some parts of the park.  If awarded in the fall, construction of twenty (20) of the proposed forty (40) parking spaces, off of Church Lane, and a small Tot Lot, will begin in the Spring of 2012.  Every precaution will be taken to protect neighboring homes and keep our small town a rural community.  Preserving this acreage will help do just that!  Click on the links below to see the Parking and Tot Lot plan as well as a map of the overall proposed park.  Construction of the Park will be completed as funding and necessity becomes available.  Please check back on the website with any upcoming information or attend the Planning Commission and/or Supervisor's meetings.  Any suggestions may also be submitted through the website
